How To Apply

Agricultural students

To be eligible to apply, ideally applicants will match the following criteria -:

  • Be living in Scotland
  • Be studying an agriculturally related subject at University or College or undertaking structured learning whilst working on a farm.
  • Be aged 25 and under.
  • The duration of the trip should be for less than one year.
  • The overseas trip is related to agriculture. Help in funding any of the following is possible: travel, accommodation, visas, inoculations, training, equipment and insurance (living costs may also be awarded).
  • Be able to demonstrate why the costs are necessary and show how they have been calculated.

Dollar Academy students

Dollar Academy students need to be planning to undertake their trip either whilst still at school or within one year of leaving school, before starting at college or university. Applications will not be accepted from students who left school over one year previously.

Business start ups and commercial enterprises are excluded, as are holidays and trips with no clear purpose. Click here for more application guidelines.
